Spicy & strong
You love the rustic note and a brown bread sweetness. It shows a balanced acidity with a a strong body and intense flavors.
Acidity
Like a lively sparkle that adds a hint of sweetness and fruity flavor. It is what makes your taste buds tingle, reminiscent of biting into a crisp apple or sipping a tarty cherry juice. This lively trait brings coffee to life in a unique way.
Bitterness
Like a pinch of seasoning, bitterness enhances coffee’s complexity. It is a balancing act with too little, the coffee may taste overly sweet or tangy. Robusta beans are naturally more bitter than Arabica due to the higher levels of these compounds. Light-medium roasts offer a pleasant bitterness, while darker roasts yield a stronger, lingering bitter sensation. Keep in mind, that taste varies – what is bitter to you might be enjoyable to others.
Body
Refers to how a coffee feels in your mouth – it is like the weight and texture that you sense as you sip. Imagine it as the difference between whole milk feeling rich and creamy compared to skim milk feeling lighter. Body gives coffee a sense of substance and depth, making each sip a satisfying experience.
Sweetness
Coffee’s link to fruitiness isn’t always obvious, but the beans are loaded with carbs and amino acids inherited from the coffee cherry. When roasted, these carbs become the building blocks of sweetness, like the simple sugars found in fruits. Through the Maillard reaction (roasting), they transform into the cozy sweetness we enjoy, reminding us of the cherry’s natural flavours.

Everything about the product

This is what Hanseatic Coffee Roasters says about the producers and the cultivation of the Italian Bar Decaf Espresso:

The Arabica beans from the Cerrado region in southeastern Brazil are grown at an altitude of around 1000 meters and give the coffee a pleasant sweetness. With a share of 30%, the Robusta beans from the Kerala region in western India contribute to the fine, spicy and chocolaty aromas. The coffee cherries come from small local farmers who are part of the Manarcadu Social Service Society (MASS). The cooperative, which includes 837 small farmers, was established in 2001 with the aim of helping the farming community adapt to sustainable agricultural practices, thereby achieving a better livelihood and positive impact on the environment.

This is what Hanseatic Coffee Roasters says about the preparation and taste of the Italian Bar Decaf Espresso:

Italian Bar Decaf is ideal for preparing latte macchiato or cappuccino. The proportion of Robusta beans gives the coffee a sweet and spicy aroma and the coveted dark, hazelnut-brown crema. The particularly mild and gentle CO2 process is used to remove the caffeine.

Hanseatic Coffee Roasters also finds this worth mentioning:

The CO2 process for decaffeinating coffee has the advantage that the flavor and aroma of the coffee are almost completely preserved. This means that the coffee remains neutral in terms of roast aromas, cup quality, aroma and filterability.
