Experimental & complex
Your coffee is complex, it shows a medium body with citrusy acidity notes. The freshness and liveness makes every cup unique.
Acidity
Like a lively sparkle that adds a hint of sweetness and fruity flavor. It is what makes your taste buds tingle, reminiscent of biting into a crisp apple or sipping a tarty cherry juice. This lively trait brings coffee to life in a unique way.
Bitterness
Like a pinch of seasoning, bitterness enhances coffee’s complexity. It is a balancing act with too little, the coffee may taste overly sweet or tangy. Robusta beans are naturally more bitter than Arabica due to the higher levels of these compounds. Light-medium roasts offer a pleasant bitterness, while darker roasts yield a stronger, lingering bitter sensation. Keep in mind, that taste varies – what is bitter to you might be enjoyable to others.
Body
Refers to how a coffee feels in your mouth – it is like the weight and texture that you sense as you sip. Imagine it as the difference between whole milk feeling rich and creamy compared to skim milk feeling lighter. Body gives coffee a sense of substance and depth, making each sip a satisfying experience.
Sweetness
Coffee’s link to fruitiness isn’t always obvious, but the beans are loaded with carbs and amino acids inherited from the coffee cherry. When roasted, these carbs become the building blocks of sweetness, like the simple sugars found in fruits. Through the Maillard reaction (roasting), they transform into the cozy sweetness we enjoy, reminding us of the cherry’s natural flavours.

Everything about the product

This is what Five Elephant says about the producers and the cultivation of the Las Margaritas filter:

Blanca Ligia Correa and Juan Antonio Herrera, a couple with fourteen children, settled on the Postosi farm, where, in addition to the Typica variety, they also introduced the Yellow Bourbon, Red Bourbon and Caturra varieties and laid the foundation for Café Granja La Esperanza in 1945 . Despite societal norms and market fluctuations, the family maintained their coffee legacy, with sons Rigoberto and Luis showing a keen interest in coffee production. The expansion led to the acquisition of the La Esperanza and La Carleida farms in Panama, and its breakthrough came in 2008 when it secured first place in the "Best Coffee in Panama" competition. Rigoberto brought the Geisha seeds back to Colombia, ushering in a new phase. Café Granja La Esperanza specializes in specialty coffees and continually strives to raise its profile, overcome challenges and leave an indelible mark on the industry.

This coffee is of the Sudan Rume variety. After harvesting, it is rested in the silo for 48 hours before being dried in the sun for 28 days. To increase stability and reduce astringency, the coffee is stored for 3 months.

This is what Five Elephant says about the preparation and taste of the Las Margaritas filter:

This experimental nano batch shines with bright and refreshing aromas of mango, apricot schnapps, passion fruit and marzipan.
