Roast level
Like a pinch of spice, the bitterness underlines the complexity of the coffee. It's a balancing act because if there's not enough bitterness, the coffee can taste too sweet or too bitter. Robusta beans are naturally more bitter than Arabica beans because they have higher levels of these compounds. Light to medium roasts provide a pleasant bitterness, while darker roasts produce a stronger, lingering bitter taste. Remember that tastes are different - what is bitter for you may be pleasant for others.
Body
Refers to how a coffee feels in your mouth - it's like the weight and texture you feel when you sip. Imagine the difference between whole milk, which feels rich and creamy, and skim milk, which feels lighter. The body gives the coffee a feeling of substance and depth, making every sip a satisfying experience.
Sweetness
The connection between coffee and fruitiness isn't always obvious, but the beans are full of carbohydrates and amino acids that come from the coffee cherry. When roasted, these carbohydrates become the basic building blocks of sweetness, similar to the simple sugars in fruits. Through the Maillard reaction (roasting) they transform into the cozy sweetness that we enjoy and that reminds us of the natural flavors of the cherry.

Is the Advent calendar also available with ground coffee?

No, we only offer our Advent calendar as a whole bean. This way we guarantee that your coffee stays as fresh as possible! If you don't have a coffee grinder at home yet, we recommend the Timemore C3 Pro as a starter. This makes it easy to grind coffee for espresso and filter methods.

When will I receive my Advent calendar?

The 60beans Advent calendar will be delivered from mid-November 2023. Please order your calendar in time so that it arrives on time for the first day of December.

How much coffee is in the 60beans Advent calendar?

The 60beans Advent calendar contains 40 grams of coffee per day. That's enough for around 4 cups of filter coffee or 4-5 cups of espresso.
