The “Experimental & Complex” aroma type

As a specialty coffee fan, are you constantly looking for new exciting flavors? This flavor combination of experimental, complex flavors is sure to surprise your taste buds!
We'll explain to you where the characteristic taste comes from and which coffees you absolutely have to try if you like these flavors.

The origin

How the origin influences the taste of your floral and light coffee.

Beans with this flavor profile often come from countries in Central or South America. Beans from Ecuador, for example, can have versatile notes from tropical fruits paired with rum to vanilla notes that create a complex sweetness in the cup.

Its experimental notes and clear, juicy profile make it a popular choice for coffee fans who appreciate atypical and complex flavors.

📍 Typical countries of origin: Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico

The processing

How the coffee beans are processed influences their taste.

Above all, the preparation of the coffee from the cherry to the dried green bean shapes the experimental and complex taste of your coffee.

From washed and fermentation to anaerobic processes and anerobic honey-processed methods, it really has everything here. Fermentation with Lactobacillus cultures, for example, produces incredible sweetness in the cup.

  • Typical processing: Washed, Fermentation, Natural anaerobic, Honey Anaerobic

The roasting

Roasting also plays a big role when it comes to the taste of your coffee.

During the roasting process, chemical reactions are triggered that promote or even prevent the formation of aroma compounds.

For fruity and lively notes, the coffee beans are often only lightly to medium-dark roasted and therefore get an invigorating note with gentle acidity and lots of natural sweetness!

These fruity, tangy flavors are also particularly good when enjoyed ice-cold - perfect for sunny days.
